Rarity Handbags was born in the wake of the new worldwide movement for conscious, unique and soulful products for the 21 century’s mindful consumer.   The inspiration for Rarity Handbags comes from a small team of dedicated artisans who lovingly create one-of-a-kind contemporary products from hand selected environmentally aware skins and leathers.   From design to manufacture, every bag is handmade in-house in Rarity’s small factory studio in Cape Town, with leathers and components being sourced locally in South Africa to reduce their carbon footprint.   Rarity’s founder and designer, Jacqueline Burge, is a sculptor by education, and has been trained to make bags in Japan.
